Mandatory Presence of Women on Boards of Directors

In a significant move to enhance gender diversity in corporate leadership, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has mandated that, starting from January 2025, all private joint-stock companies must allocate at least one seat on their boards of directors to women. This decision, issued by the Ministry of Economy, aims to bolster female representation in key leadership roles within the private sector.
